Ducati Scrambler 1100 launch fixed for August 27

first_imgDucati India is all set to launch the latest Scrambler 1100 in the Indian motorcycle market. The flagship Scrambler model from Ducati will make its India debut on August 27 with the announcement being made on the motorcycle major’s social media channels. A few Ducati dealerships have already started taking in bookings for the upcoming motorcycle for an amount of Rs 1-2 lakh, depending on the dealership. The price of the Scrambler 1100, although still waiting to be revealed, is touted to be around the Rs 11 lakh mark, ex-showroom for the base model.The Ducati Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1,079c, L-twin engine which churns out 86bhp and 88Nm of torque. The standard Scrambler is powered by an 803cc engine which churns out 74bhp and 67Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.The major styling part of the Scrambler 1100 is similar to the 800cc siblings but with a few noticeable changes which include underseat twin exhaust mufflers and a new headlight. In terms of safety equipment, Ducati has provided the Scrambler 1100 with standard ABS, cornering ABS, and a 4-level traction control system. The motorcycle also gets ride-by-wire throttle and features three riding modes – Active, Journey, and City mode. The instrument cluster is different and features a second pod which reads out additional info which comes with new electronics.Ducati sells the Scrambler 1100 already in international markets in three variants – standard, Sport, and Special. Ducati may bring the three models but start the sales off with the base variant in India. Expect the pricing to be about Rs 11 lakh and will go head-on with rivals like the Triumph Street Triple Rs, or the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster.advertisementlast_img
