House Judiciary Committee Working on Immigration Reform

first_img Representative Bob Goodlatte – House Judiciary Committee Chairman – pledged action on immigration reform legislation Thursday – saying the immigration issue needs to be solved and work is happening toward that goal. Goodlatte says committee members are working on four bills that address different components of the current U.S. immigration system – as well as the four the committee has already approved – which includes one on agricultural workers. He says the committee has objections to the Senate bill – yet doesn’t want to kill the Senate bill. Goodlatte would like to see the full House vote on the committee-passed bills in October – but there’s no guarantee that will happen as the House agenda is full of other items.
