first_imgUnderage hurling in Letterkenny received a huge shot in the arm when star hurlers from St Eunans senior team brought the Lory Meagher Cup to O’Donnell Park. Dozens of young hurlers from Under 6 to Under 10 age groups got to chat to five of the Donegal team which won the cup last weekend.The lads, Shane O’Connor, Cormac Goulding, Sean McVeigh, Eugene Organ and captain Colm Breathnach, all took time out to chat tot he young hurlers of the future.Also in attendance was Lord Mayor of Letterkenny, Cllr Tadgh Culbert – a former senior hurling medal winner in his native Tipperary.Organiser and St.Eunan’s hurling coach Eunan O’Donnell thanked all the lads for turning up with the cup which he said was a brilliant experience for all the young players. PEDESTRIAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR

first_imgA pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.The person is believed to have escaped serious injury but was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital for treatment.The road at Dreenan Bridge in Ballybofey has re-opened after being closed for a time after the incident earlier this evening. Gardaí say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.The accident is the latest in a series of incidents in Co Donegal in recent days.Ten people have lost their lives on the county’s roads this year – one more for than the whole of 2013.Garda Inspector Michael Harrison has pleaded with motorists to drive with extra care as heavy rain and showers are expected over the next week.
